The U Street Neighborhood Association supports a wide range of programming in Temperance Alley — from ecology classes to music in the garden to writing workshops and more. All are welcome to host a public & non-commercial gathering in our shared backyard. We also co-host and promote various community events across the U Street Corridor, including at Harrison Recreation Center. Holiday Tree Decorating 🌲

Saturday, December 17th from 12:00 – 2pm

‘Tis the season to gather in recognition of all end-of-year festivities. At our main celebration for this month, we’ll craft some wildlife-edible decorations for you to take home as well as adorn our holly tree. Help decorate the garden with visual interest for the Winter plus food for the birds! (Rumor has it there might even be some singing)

Warm drinks and light snacks will be served – BYO thermos if you can in addition to any ornaments, trinkets, or knick knacks you'd like to hang.

Autumnal Equinox Celebration 🌞

Since the Summer Solstice back in June our nights have been growing longer and our days have been shortening. On September 22nd we’ll celebrate the Autumnal Equinox (equal-night) when the sun passes most directly over the equator and the day and night are of equal length. This marks the mid-point in our seasonal journey towards the Winter Solstice in December.

Join neighbors in the garden at dusk to share in harvest snacks.
