For our first ever Theatre in the Garden, we are more than excited to present a read-through of local playwright Alyssa Haddad-Chin’s *new work* titled “You Should Be So Lucky”.

Poh Poh invites her granddaughter, Jenny, to her apartment to make dumplings for the Lunar New Year. As they prepare, the two begin to discover that changes within Chinatown aren’t leaving space for them.

Hosted by our partners at 4615 Theatre, come ready to explore themes of gentrification, generational divide, and community upheaval in this new staged reading. Afterwards you’ll have a chance to meet and discuss the piece with the playwright and learn how to support our local emerging artists.
