Mystical Tales: A Writing Workshop

Fantasy, horror, magical realism, folklore, and mythology...

In this writing workshop, let's cast spells with our words to change what we fear, resent, and ignore in our lives and in our worlds. We'll provide writing materials, though you are encouraged to bring your own if you'd like. This workshop includes time at the end to share your writing with others if you would like to.

Please wear warm clothing. We will have blankets to lie on and candles spread throughout the garden for lighting in addition the streetlights in the alley.

We will cap the group at 15 participants total to foster an intimate, immersive group environment. Please register on Eventbrite to make sure you have a spot!

About the host: This workshop is led by Amanda Liaw. Amanda (she/they) is a Media & Communications Associate for the PEN/Faulkner Foundation where she advocates passionately for the power of literary education in shaping lives and communities. Growing up in Singapore with a love for all forms of storytelling, she views her prior experiences in film production, stage management, and digital media strategy through an interdisciplinary lens, with narrative at the heart of human connection and empathetic understanding as its purpose.
