U Street Neighborhood Association is hosting a Reopening Celebration and Block Party at Harrison Park, 1330 V Street NW, this Sunday 6/18 from 1–5pm. 

We partnered with HoopBus (a nonprofit that builds community through basketball) to renovate the court and paint a new mural designed to celebrate the musical history of U Street. There will be free food, live music, a basketball giveaway + tournament, and a special presentation by the basketball camp of former NBA player Quinn Cook. And, of course, the legendary HOOPBUS will be pulling up at the block party. All ages are welcome. 

This renovation is a long time coming. Shoutout to Kelsye Adams, chair of Friends of Harrison, for all the hard work she's put into reactivating the park over the last few years. Here's to new art and new energy at this great place for play in our neighborhood. See you at 13th & V!
