13th Street Block Party aims to create a joyful, welcoming space for neighbors to connect and celebrate the power of community. We honor DC’s vibrant culture by showcasing local talents and providing a free, safe place for self-expression. Rooted in the spirit of mutual aid, 13th Street Block Party offers not only music, arts, and activities—but also opportunities to share resources, uplift local voices, and build networks of care amidst unprecedented threats to our collective safety. Programming includes live music, drag performances, skateboarding competition, roller rink, clothing swap, arts & crafts, live painting, face and body painting, tarot reading, henna, chess and checkers, community care. 13th Street Block Party is a grassroots, community-driven event hosted by neighbors and organizers in the U St Corridor. All financial contributions will go towards artist compensation and offsetting the cost of supplies.
